The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a severe lack of depth at some positions this season. Here are three players who need to be replaced on the roster.

The Steelers lost to the Browns by two scores on Thursday Night Football, as injuries continued to mount up for Pittsburgh. While players like JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner, and Diontae Johnson all left the game early, their replacements did very little with their opportunities.

It’s not fun always talking about the bad players on the roster, but the Steelers need to have higher expectations. Several big names could be missing some time, and Pittsburgh needs to figure out a solution fast.

Some players have overstayed their welcome and have proven to offer this football team very little to no benefit. Here are three players who should be replaced immediately:

Johnny Holton

Johnny Holton has been a trainwreck of a football player this year for the Steelers. The former Raiders wide receiver has shown why he has predominantly played special teams in his career. Holton is solid as a gunner, but he has been pathetic on offense.

The 28-year old receiver has caught a dismal 7.7 percent of his targets this season (1 of 13) for just 18 yards. Holton, who saw extensive action against the Browns after Smith-Schuster and Johnson went down with concussions, was rendered useless against Cleveland.

Despite some very catchable passes thrown his direction, Holton doesn’t seem to know how to reel in the ball. The Steelers are really missing a player like Martavis Bryant, as they currently don’t have a reliable player who can help stretch the field.

Holton is an older player who has caught just 34 percent of his career targets. It’s time to end this experiment and get a receiver that can play offense.
