After recent signings of WR Deon Cain & RB Kerrith White JR were made to aid in the depth of the offense, the Steelers didn’t stop there. As DL LT Walton enters IR due to season-ending surgery, a joyous LB Tuzar Skipper returns to the active roster.
Is there any other possible way to better announce a return to the Pittsburgh Steelers? Done on one’s own accord, with admiration awaiting from the hopes of adoring fans that endured for this exact moment to happen. Of course, if it was from a national reporter it reaches the audience of many, but also leaves a flood of “who” or “slow new days, huh Adam” drowning in the comments.
For Steelers fans, it was an exciting bit of news. Preseason stud Tuzar Skipper has officially returned:
The undrafted rookie LB made his debut into this league as a Steeler, and quickly became a fan-favorite. A preseason phenom, Tuzar Skipper dominated in his four games recording 16 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
What looked like another defensive hit for this coaching staff, Skipper initially made the 53 man roster to open the 2019 season, but would then be released in place of WR Johnny Holton. Here he is showcasing his talent against Titans:

Just days after being let go by the Steelers, Skipper found an immediate new home with the New York Giants, in which he would appear in 6 games this year. The snaps were limited & numbers followed with Tuzar only totaling 2 combined tackles, 1 QB hit, and 1 fumble recovery.
Though a short-lived journey in the Meadowlands didn’t bode much for his career, a return to the Steel City should serve him well. The excitement can already be felt through his tweet along with the replies, however this did occur in part to DL LT Walton having to head to IR. As Walton deals with season-ending surgery due to a torn meniscus, peace and blessings are shouted out his way towards a speedy recovery for the 5th-year Steeler.
Still, the Toledo alum is a nice, young addition for the depth of this defense that is already carrying the load for this team. With the league’s worst team and divisional foe Cincinnati Bengals up next, Skipper should be able to find his footing back into the groove of this unit fairly smoothly.
