Can the Steelers stay ahead in the AFC Wild Card race?

The Steelers are ahead in the AFC Wild Card race and will probably need to win this week to stay on top. If the playoffs were to start today, the Steelers would be the sixth seed. That is good enough for me in a year where they lose Ben Roethlisberger.

There are several teams still in the hunt for the AFC Wild Card. The Titans are also 7-5 but the Steelers own the tiebreaker against the Titans. The Raiders are a game back at 6-6. The good news is those two teams are playing each other this week; so, they both can’t come out of the week with a win.

There are more teams still in the hunt including the pesky Indianapolis Colts and the Cleveland Browns are two games back but will need to gain by three games to surpass the Steelers as the Steelers own the tiebreaker.

The odds will increase for the Steelers to make the playoffs with a win this week so this is an important game. This is also the second most winnable game left on the Steelers schedule after the Jets game.

The Steelers need to win this game despite it being on the road and against a quarterback they are unfamiliar with in Kyler Murray.
