Will the Steelers be okay without Juju?
The Steelers very well could be without Juju Smith-Schuster who is dealing with a knee injury. He has recently started running but has not been practicing with the team. He is their best receiver in a time when the steelers are hurting in terms of wide receiver depth.
Behind Juju Smith-Schuster is James Washington who is playing well enough to help the Steelers win. Diontae Johnson is also contributing as a #2 receiver with Juju out. If you had asked me earlier in the season who the Steeler’s #2 receiver was with Juju healthy I probably would have told you, Diontae Johnson, ahead of James Washington. Washington has stepped up his game since the season’s start earning him the #2 position.
The Black & Gold are also relying on some in-season additions and promotions. Johnny Holton is getting more time in the offense. Tevin Jones has been called up to the practice squad and has played some good football. Deon Cain was signed off a practice squad and has flashed at times.
The Steelers would certainly benefit from getting Juju Smith-Schuster back, but he must rehabilitate his leg.
