Diontae Johnson vs. Bills secondary

Surprised to see Diontae Johnson as the sole receiver highlighted? Don’t be. He’s become one of the most dynamic playmakers on the Steelers offense.

Last week he recorded 162 all-purpose yards on 9 touches including an 85 yards punt return for a score. He has made many plays throughout the season and defenses are going to have to start taking account for him.

With Juju’s absence, the Steelers receivers have had plenty of opportunities to show what they can do. Johnson had his bright moments last week. If the Bills want to take away the Steelers’ top weapon in Juju or James Washington, Johnson will have room to work the Bills pass coverage.

Not only is this game important for Johnson, but it’s also important for the rest of the year. If the Steelers receiving corps and backfield return to health, it could be a much needed reload for the Steelers offense. This only benefits Johnson.

His electric plays will be much needed against the Bills’ tough defense. He can be the X-Factor for the 2019 Steelers; he will have to win the battles in the secondary this week and beyond.
