Steelers vs. Jets: Winners and losers from Pittsburgh’s Week 16 loss

Winners:
Bud Dupree & TJ Watt
There’s so much that can be said about each of these two players and the year they’re having, but in condensed form, the disruption begins with them. Leading the way, both Dupree & Watt were able to sack QB Sam Darnold while also combining for 12 tackles, 2 TFL, 3 QB hits, 1 forced fumble & a recovery.
As one continues to justify his claim as DPOY, the other has elevated to career-highs on a contract year, that many fans would like to see a return to Pittsburgh. A duo that has the Steelers ranked 5th in team pass rush win rate and Watt 2nd in the leaderboards for DE/OLB, hopefully, they extend this production together past 2019.
Diontae Johnson
Without question, the best offensive skill player the past month has been WR Diontae Johnson. The growth coaches envision for young players as the season advances, perfectly metaphors Johnson. Diontae reeled in 8 of his 9 targets for 81 yards and a touchdown. The third week in a row of catching 5 or more of his passes, his shiftiness is opening up his game at the right time.
Although he was limited on returns against the Jets, the specialist he has become through the course of the year, makes for potentially another solid WR this Steelers front office is able to consistently find.
