Zach Banner: Low Priority

Banner is quickly becoming a fan favorite, and I know Mike Tomlin likes him. He beat out 2018 3rd round pick, Chukwuma Okorafor for the swing tackle job this season, and said to have improved by leaps and bounds since coming into the league.

Banner turned just 26 years old on Christmas, and with an aging offensive line, Pittsburgh may try to keep him around. Their best bet is to place an original round tender on him (4th round). If another team signs him, at least they will gain solid draft capital.

Johnny Holton: Low Priority

Johnny Holton couldn’t catch a cold this season, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t hold some value to the Steelers. He was consistently the best special teams gunner in Pittsburgh and his veteran presence and leadership on special teams is welcome. I think the Steelers will try to retain him, but at a very low cost.

Tuzar Skipper: Low Priority

The Steelers were willing to let Tuzar Skipper walk after an incredible preseason, so it’s hard to imagine that they are too attached to him. that being said, Pittsburgh doesn’t have a lot of depth at the position, and if a deal can’t get done with Dupree, Skipper becomes a much greater priority.

The Steelers have a lot of important decisions to make soon that could shape their future. Bud Dupree is the clear and obvious choice to return, but cap space is tight and they could be too far off on negotiations. It will be interesting to see which other players will be returning in 2020.
