Kamalei Correa
Kamalei Correa is a player who has started to make a name for himself as of late. Correa was the former 42nd overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Boise State product was considered a bit undersized at the edge position and projected best to a 3-4 defense.
Correa had unreal speed and agility numbers at both the NFL Combine and his Pro Day prior to entering the draft. He put his athleticism on display for the Tenessee Titans this season.
Though Correa only had 3.5 sacks before this season, he has really started to come alive in recent weeks. Including playoffs, Correa has managed 6.0 sacks, 6 tackles for a loss, and 5 quarterback hits since Week 13 of the 2019 season. If he continues to produce at this rate, he could have a very good breakout season in 2020.
Correa isn’t as powerful or productive as Bud Dupree, but that is why the Steelers would be getting him at a discounted rate. At age 25, Correa is almost a full year younger than Bud Dupree and still hasn’t reached his NFL potential.
If the Titans allow him to test the market, he is a player that would make a lot of sense for the Steelers if they can’t get a deal done with Dupree.
