Josh Uche

The former Michigan product would add another talented edge rusher to go along with Defensive Player of the Year Candidate, T.J. Watt. Understandably, Bud Dupree may not be going anywhere this offseason. However, the free agent edge rusher is going to want a huge payday. With the cap situation being limited, it does not make sense to invest so much money into a player who has had only one season of high-end production.

Uche, dominated this year’s senior bowl for the North Team. He was a force to be reckoned with all week long. Uche’s bend and athleticism made him an issue to deal with.

Uche’s high-end athleticism will translate well to the next level. Slow footed NFL tackles, will have difficulty keeping up with his speed and quickness coming off the edge. The 6’1″ 241-pound player could use to add some more weight to his frame, but that shouldn’t be a reason not to draft him. You can’t teach speed and Uche has plenty of it.

If drafted, the tandem of Uche and T.J. Watt would have the potential to wreak havoc on the edges. Offensive lines across the league will be feared having to play the Steelers front seven, and that’s the way it should be.
