There are those in the media flirting with the idea of Antonio Brown possibly returning to the Steelers. Here’s why there’s no chance of that happening.

Former Steelers star receiver, Antonio Brown, was recently released on bail by a Florida judge after serving jail time for attacking a moving truck driver. While his name is far from being clear in his latest run-in with the law, there are already those in media circles striking up a pointless (and seemingly endless) conversation: Could Brown return to the Steelers?

The simple answer is no – for reasons I shouldn’t even have to explain. Brown continues to be in the spotlight for all of the wrong reasons, and he will no doubt be under investigation for his involvement in this most recent fiasco.

According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, the police have been called to Brown’s Miami residence 18 times over the past two months. This is an absurd amount for anyone looking to find employment in any industry.

Brown has firmly established himself as the most hated player in all of football, and his terrible choice to post his video tirades with police outside of his Miami home just leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.

Even before all of the drama that took place during the 2019 NFL season on the Raiders and Patriots, Brown was wreaking havoc on the Steelers. Have we so quickly forgotten the menace he was in Pittsburgh?

Over a year ago (before trade talks for Brown started to swirl), I wrote an article on why the Steelers need to trade Antonio Brown. Even back then, the reasons were glaringly obvious.

Brown divided the team with multiple confrontations with coaches, sideline tantrums, “trade me” comments, and missed team meetings. He also had a reckless driving incident where he was shown flipping off the cameras going 100 mph in a 45, and he walked out on his team against the Bengals in a must-win game to end the 2018 season. The list goes on.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Steelers are glad to be rid of the biggest headache they have ever had to deal with. Diontae Johnson has the makings of a budding star, and Pittsburgh – as they always do – will continue to find talent at the wide receiver position.

It’s a big enough stretch to believe that Antonio Brown will ever return to the NFL again, but thinking that there is a chance of him returning to the team he imploded from within is completely laughable. Shut down the conversation, people. There is zero chance Brown ever returns to the Steelers.
