Top 5 Steelers drafted under GM Kevin Colbert
Antonio Brown
It’s difficult to ponder that a player who was on a Hall-Of-Fame track of a career posting astronomical numbers, hit a wall so vividly & abruptly off-the-field to remove the focus from what he has done on the field. This is not a claim that what has transpired in WR Antonio Brown’s personal life is to be ignored, but shameful for what could’ve been if the trend continued before the fallout.
In the end, the Steelers knack in finding for WR talent reached a bar with AB that may never be passed in Pittsburgh. Aside from the outside troubles, Brown was the best receiver in the league for years during this “Golden Age of WRs” in NFL history.
A work-ethic unmatched, the former 6th-round pick from Central Michigan dominated once his name was called to the starting lineups. Four years into his career, it was just time to “Call God”.

From 2013-2019 among WRs with at least 1,000 yards, AB is ranked first in touchdowns (68) & receptions (690), second in receiving yards (9201) & yards per game (98.9), with a catch 66.8 percentage while averaging 13.33 yards per reception.
Simply insane in regards to the production, AB would earn 6 straight Pro-Bowl selections & being named First-Team All-Pro 4 consecutive times (14’-17’). Currently the only active WR with at least 4, Brown is also one of three receivers to post more than 1500 yards in a single season multiple times, tied first with WR Julio Jones at 3.
9 seasons as a Steeler, his peak reigned for most of it and at an extremely elite level. Despised feelings justifiably reside in the aftermath & could dictate the viewpoint for Steelers fans, but for what happened on that field could never be denied for the diamond in the rough Colbert found in 2010.
