Mekale McKay

Anyone could go to either overthecap.com or spotrac.com and will not find the name Mekale McKay in the free agent list for 2020 WRs. That’s because the XFL New York Guardian is still making his strides in the developmental football leagues, being a previous star in the former AAF.

McKay is no stranger to the NFL though. Undrafted in 2016, he has already appeared on 6 teams while only being paid on the cap by two of them. No more than a camp body in his young career, the recommendation comes with his size and down the field abilities.

Standing at 6’4 and a solid 210, McKay moves well despite this & proven to be a threat down the field that can climb the ladder.

Not a desperate move by the Steelers and will be taking a chance on a player that has a lot of mileage left. If nothing more, McKay gives you an option to go add another WR through the draft and possibly get a 2 for 1 at a relatively low cost.

Unavailable until the end of the XFL season, could the Steelers be the lucky 7 for McKay? Providing elements unlike what’s currently on the roster, it would be an outside-the-box, overlooked selection by fans, but one that is definitely most intriguing.
