The Cuts

Whether you love him or hate him, any fair person has to respect Mike Tomlin’s treatment of players as grown men. Their development off the field is part of the Steelers’ culture and starts at the ownership level.

When it comes time to make difficult cuts at the end of camp, how do Colbert and Tomlin go about their business? What drives their decision making? How do they treat players whose hopes and dreams might be crushed?

Ben’s Elbow

How does he look? Is he in pain? How confident should we be that #7 can not only start the season but finish it strong?

Improvement

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers notwithstanding, I can’t remember a team appearing on Hard Knocks that did not take a step forward the following season. This Steelers team seems primed to make a significant move in the AFC if their quarterback situation solidifies. If the Madden Curse is a real thing, why can’t the Hard Knocks bump be real as well?

So, yes, I would actually be excited to see the “Stillers” on Hard Knocks. This opportunity is so rare that we should make the most of it if it actually happens. That said, if the NFL decides to go forward with another franchise, so be it. I’m fine with the secret sauce staying that way for another half-century or longer.
