Round 4: Leki Fotu

Defensive tackle, Utah

The Steelers are set to lose Javon Hargrave to the highest bidder this offseason and while Stephon Tuitt is set to return from a torn pectoral muscle, Pittsburgh could use some help on the defensive line.

Hargrave was a very solid player – capable of anchoring against the run or knifing in after the quarterback in passing situations. The 2020 draft class doesn’t exactly have great depth in this area, and it could be wise of the Steelers to grab an edge defender later rather than sooner.

With their original fourth-round pick, I have Pittsburgh going with Utah defensive tackle, Leki Fotu. Fotu presents excellent value at this point in the draft. At 6’5”, Fotu doesn’t have as much leverage as Hargrave in the middle of the defense. However, he’s aided by 330 pounds of mass and 34 1/4” arms.

Fotu has surprising athleticism for the position, and his rare combination of size and length gives him the versatility to play any position along Pittsburgh’s defensive line – including 5-technique. In a weak defensive tackle class, Fotu could be off the board at this point, but he would be an excellent addition to Pittsburgh’s defense on day three of the draft.
