Deon Bush, S, Chicago Bears

2019 Stats: 9 tackles

I toyed with putting a player like Karl Joseph on this list, as I think what he would bring as a #3 safety is exactly what the Steelers need. Even though I expect his AAV to come in lower than Spotracts 6 million dollar estimation, I think he’ll earn too much for the Steelers to sign him.

The Steelers still have options in free agency, and Deon Bush makes as much sense as any. He has been a consistent backup since being drafted by the Bears in 2016. While he has eight total starts to his name, he has yet to record an interception or look like a potential long-term starter.

That being said, solid depth is solid depth, and Bush would make sense as a backup player with the Steelers. His contract should be cheap as well. He is a candidate for a veteran minimum contract, but if the team really likes him, they could offer him a multi-year deal for around 1 million per year.
