Max Garica could be a cheap depth player for the Steelers

Max Garcia, OG, Arizona Cardinals

I didn’t forget his stats above, as Max Garcia only played 16 snaps last year with the Cardinals. While that may scream “not worth a contract”, he is likely one of the most realistic offensive free-agent options for the Steelers.

While his 2019 season was far from ideal, he was a starter in Denver in both 2016 and 2017. Injuries have caused his play to dip, but that also means he should be able to come in on the cheap.

It would be a shock to see Garcia net more than a minimum salary contract for the upcoming year. With the recent retirement of Ramon Foster, there will have to be some new faces along the interior of the line to make up for the talent lost there. While Garcia wouldn’t need to be a starter, he would be able to provide valuable depth.

None of these options are the game-changing starters that the team acquired last year, but instead valuable depth pieces that can aid in the loss of another player. They provide the Steelers options though, both on the roster and in the draft. The Steelers may not have the cap to make a splash in free agency, but the team knows how to find value in the backend of free agency.
