OG Joe Thuney

This was a hard toss-up should the Steelers take the best available TE or WR on the market. The offense lacks an explosive, true number one WR, but at the same time has not seemed to get its TE situation under control for the past couple of years now. But with the news dropping that OG Ramon Foster is retiring, saluting a very solid & respectable career, being able to find a sure-fire OG versus the other two is much more difficult through the draft.

Also fresh into his prime, the New England Patriot has been a rising star in this league under one of the best OL coaches this league has seen in Dante Scarnecchia. Already a 2x Super-Bowl winner, hold the grunts Steelers fans, he understands what it takes to be apart of a winning culture and to be a staple within it.

Never miss a game in his NFL career, Thuney has only played less than 100% of the snaps once in his four years, which he dropped to a considerable 99% in 2019. Without causing any sort of penalty as well last year, Thuney has only accounted for 18 since 2016 and has never surpassed double-digits in a single year.

Possibly the best OG on the market, the man who only gave up one sack in 2019 and landed himself on the PFF’s top 101 players of 2019, would instantly wretch the Steeler OL back into top gear & fill the void at LG for Ramon Foster.
