4th round: Bravvion Roy

Defensive tackle, Baylor

The Steelers have done nothing to address the loss of Javon Hargrave to this point. While it’s not a great defensive tackle class this year, Bravvion Roy becomes the good value at this point. Roy was a big part of an impressive defensive line at Baylor in 2019.

Listed at 6’1” and 333 pounds, Roy has an ideal frame and bulk for the nose tackle position. He broke out as a senior with 61 tackles, 13.0 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks. Roy is a player who could potentially slide right in as a starter in Pittsburgh’s 3-4 front.

Unfortunately, he’s not going to be an every-down player in the NFL. While Hargrave offered much more as a pass rusher, Roy is a defensive tackle more in the mold of a Casey Hampton. With his thick, powerful frame, he could help shut down the run in 2020 and beyond.
