Madubuike has a similar skill set to former Steelers Hargrave

3rd round pick, 67th overall

Justin Madubuike, NT, Texas A&M

With the Steelers lacking picks in this draft, the Steelers field offers from teams looking to move up for certain players. Detroit offers up picks 67, 85, and 166 in exchange for 49 and 135. The Steelers now have three picks in the third and moved a fourth down to a fifth. The Lions move up to grab a CB to help replace Darius Slay (at least that is what they did in the sim).

With the Steelers pick, there are a plethora of options to select from. Some talented offensive linemen are on the board as well as receivers and defensive lineman. Ultimately, considering the state of the team, the Steelers could most use an NT to complete the defensive line.

Thus, I opt for Texas A&M NT Justin Madubuike. He has a very similar body type to Hargrave and was a proven pass rusher at the college level. He is a disruptive interior force that knows how to sack the QB. While he did weigh in a little light at the combine, he impressed in the drills and is an athletic player. Even if he is only a role player for his first year, the value he would add on the line would be worth the early third-round selection.
