Steelers need more depth at EDGE

4th round pick, 124th overall

Alton Robinson, EDGE, Syracuse

Unfortunately, there was a run at WR before I got to pick, causing me to miss out on the next wave of guys that would work. The run on WR meant a good OLB prospect fell in Alton Robinson. Robinson tested well as an athlete and put up decent stats while in college, his only issue is he is weak against the run.

Robinson could serve as a situational pass rusher while he learns to stop the run better. He also adds insurance in case Bud Dupree isn’t retained past this year. While many will point and say OLB isn’t a high need in this class, Kevin Colbert has hinted at the OLB’s as being a strong unit this year and he has visited with a few prospects who would be OLB’s in the Steelers defense.
