Jordyn Brooks

Linebacker, Texas Tech

Jordyn Brooks is a really intriguing draft prospect that not a lot of people are talking about. Though the Big 12 isn’t typically known for their defense, there are a few solid prospects set to come out of that conference this year. Brooks could be one of them.

At the Combine, Brooks ran a 4.54-second 40-yard dash at 240 pounds. Though his effort can be questioned at times when the play is moving away from him, his production cannot be. In 11 games in 2019 as a senior, Brooks earned 108 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, and 3.0 sacks.

For the Steelers, Brooks would compete for snaps with Vince Williams at Buck linebacker, and his speed, power, and his ability to make plays in the backfield should make him an excellent candidate to start next to Devin Bush in the near future.

Lance Zerlien of NFL.com believes Jordyn Brooks will be a starter within his first two seasons in the league. He could be a great depth linebacker option for Pittsburgh and take over for Williams as soon as the 2021 season.
