Geno Atkins

DT, Cincinnati Bengals

Early reports are that the Bengals want to limit the snap count of Geno Atkins next year. This may cause a rift between the two and ultimately cause the veteran to seek a trade. If that’s the case, the Steelers would be wise to target their long-time nemesis.

While age is a factor for Atkins (he is 31), he would certainly be a unique NT option to replace the departed Hargrave. He’s coming off a bit of a down year to be sure, but he would fit nicely along with the defensive line rotation. A base defense with him, Stephon Tuitt, and Cam Heyward would be a nightmare for opposing offenses to stop.

Since he is coming from a divisional rival his price would be a little steep. That said, if the Steelers tossed their 3rd rounder as compensation, it would probably be higher than most teams would offer for the aging veteran.

Projected Trade: CIN sends Atkins, PIT sends 2020 3rd
