Yannick Ngakoue would be an upgrade over Dupree for Steelers

Yannick Ngakoue

Edge, Jacksonville Jaguars

Here is where the deals get a little crazy. Yannick Ngakoue has been a stellar sack artist since coming out of Maryland, but his rift with the Jaguars and the fact the Jaguars are gearing up to tank this year has left him sitting on the franchise tag. He is being heavily shopped by the team and will likely find a new home before the draft.

The Steelers have their edge rusher sitting on the franchise tag in Bud Dupree, and while the team may seek to extend him long-term, if presented the opportunity to land a superior player in Ngakoue should intrigue them. Dupree would have to be apart of this deal as well since the team would have no capable way to afford both of them in 2020.

Ngakoue has is more talented than Dupree but is actively trying to get off the Jaguars, which lowers his overall value. Perhaps a swap of early-round picks and Dupree is enough to do this deal. The Steelers would have to sign Ngakoue to a long-term deal. The Jaguars can let Dupree play out the tag and decide if he is in their long-term plans.

Projected Trade: JAC sends Yannick Ngakoue, 2020 3rd, PIT sends Bud Dupree, 2020 2nd
