Quarterback: Jacob Eason

The players we know will be off the board at this point include Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, and Justin Herbert. Jordan Love has gained a lot of steam as of late, and he’s almost a lock to land somewhere in the first round.

This means that Jacob Eason could arguably be the best quarterback available to the Steelers in the second round of the draft. Eason isn’t guaranteed to be on the board, and while he tested poorly at the Combine, his big arm and NFL frame will be enticing to most teams.

Running back: Clyde Edwards-Helaire

If we are to be quite honest with ourselves, I just don’t see a way for a player like Jonathan Taylor to fall mid-way into the second round. At 226 pounds, he ran a 4.39 and he has excellent production and tape.

I also think D’Andre Swift is off the board at this point. that leaves Clyde Edwards-Helaire, possibly J.K. Dobbins, Cam Akers, and Zack Moss as the best remaining running backs in the draft class.

Wide Receiver: Brandon Aiyuk

This would be a dream scenario for me. Brandon Aiyuk is a long receiver with an amazing catch radius who knows how to create separation. He would be an excellent choice for Pittsburgh in the second round.

Off the board already will be CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs, Laviska Shenalt, Tee Higgins, and Jalen Reagor. I also think that Justin Jefferson and Denzel Mims will be gone before the Steelers second-round picks thanks to incredible Combine performances.
