Steelers fans haven’t been shy about voicing their opinion on players they like this year. Unfortunately, Pittsburgh’s brass may not share the same opinion.

Whether you study the game closely or not, every year, fans express their opinions over potential draft prospects for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I really wanted the Steelers to draft Jaylon Smith or Myles Jack in the first round back in 2016, but they elected to go with Artie Burns instead.

In 2018, I had Terrell Edmunds as my 83rd overall player in the draft, but Pittsburgh took him with the 28th overall pick. While I’m certainly not correct in all my assessments, fans always find a way of formulating their own opinions on draft prospects they like.

Unfortunately, Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin may not share the same opinions. Here are five players the Steelers won’t draft in 2020, despite your better judgment:

RB Jonathan Taylor

This star of the show in Wisconsin over the past three years is a player I’ve heard Steelers fans mention countless times – and I completely understand why. Taylor is a big back with top-end speed who can eat up ground in a hurry. During his three seasons at Wisconsin, Taylor compiled 6,174 rushing yards and 50 touchdowns on an eye-popping 6.7 yards per carry.

Despite all of this, I’m told that the Steelers don’t have much interest in Jonathan Taylor. Their reasoning is unclear, but it could have something to do with his massive college workload or worrisome ball-security issues.

As further evidence, the Steelers sent nobody to Wisconsin’s Pro Day before the travel ban on March 11th, yet they decided to send the house to Clemson the very next day. Though we can hope they are throwing down smoke, Pittsburgh just doesn’t have a lot of interest in Jonathan Taylor – my number one running back in the 2020 NFL Draft.
