S/LB Kyle Dugger

Small-school safety/linebacker hybrid, Kyle Dugger, is a name that has shot up draft boards since the Senior Bowl. Though he is from Lenoir-Rhyne college his eye-popping measurables and performance in Senior Bowl drills were mesmerizing.

At the NFL Combine, Dugger impressed with 4.49-second 40, 42” broad jump, and 134” vertical – at 6’1” and 217 pounds, no less. While his level of competition was concerning, he no doubt has the physical tools to succeed at the next level.

However, the Steelers have never drafted a non-Power 5 school player in the first two rounds under Mike Tomlin, and if Dugger even falls to pick 49, he’s certainly not making back round to pick 102. If you were a big Dugger fan before reading this, I’m sorry to disappoint you. I just can’t see it happening.
