RB D’Andre Swift

D’Andre Swift is a young, electrifying running back who doesn’t have nearly as much wear and tear on his body as say, Jonathan Taylor.  In addition to being extremely efficient on the ground (6.6 yards per carry throughout his career), Swift is perhaps the best receiving back in the draft – a trait the Steelers really coveted in Le’Veon Bell.

But despite his 5-star recruit status and his body of work, there is very little chance the Steelers have any interest in Swift. Pittsburgh looks for a certain body type at the position and a frame to handle every-down work.

While I have no doubt Swift would be a welcoming addition to the league’s 30th ranked offense from a sesaon ago, at just 5’8” and 212 pounds, Colbert and company will pass on Swift.

It’s probably unlikely Swift makes it to pick 49 anyways, but you can go ahead and cross him off your list as a possibility for the Steelers this year.

While there may be a hint of interest in some of these players mentioned, the Steelers never stray from their formula they have built over the years. These are five really good players, but Pittsburgh won’t draft any of them.
