Leonard Fournette (Jacksonville Jaguars)

The Jaguars haven’t been quiet about their decision to overhaul their roster this year. Jacksonville has already let go of multiple big-name players this offseason including Calais Campbell, A.J. Bouye, and Nick Foles, and more departures could be coming.

With the Jaguars already dealing multiple players this year, perhaps they would be interested in trading their top running back as well. Leonard Fournette is likely going to want a new contract soon and Jacksonville might want to deal him before his efforts to get paid become a distraction.

Despite only making three trips to the end zone, Fournette’s 2019 campaign was arguably the best of his three-year tenure in the NFL. In 15 games last season, he rushed for 1,152 yards (4.3 average) and three touchdowns while also catching 76 passes for 522 yards.

Since the Jaguars used a top-five pick to draft Fournette in 2017, they’ll probably be asking for at least a first-round selection in a potential trade package for the running back. This could end up being too high of an asking price to interest the Steelers.

But if Jacksonville is looking to deal Fournette before next season, Pittsburgh should at least make a call to see what it would take to acquire him.
