Jamaal Williams (Green Bay Packers)

In 2019, Aaron Jones had an impressive season for the Packers that saw him rush for 19 touchdowns. Despite Jones’ success last year, Green Bay’s No. 2 running back, Jamaal Williams, was still heavily involved in the team’s offense.

Williams ended up finishing last season with 146 touches (107 carries, 39 catches) for 713 yards and six touchdowns. Those are pretty impressive numbers for someone who was only on the field for 34.6 percent of the Packers’ offensive snaps last year.

Considering Green Bay is likely going to have to extend Jones in the near future, the team could look to deal Williams elsewhere in an effort to give their top running back the opportunity to be an every-down player.

Still only 25-years-old and without a ton of wear-and-tear on his body, Williams could potentially be a solid starter for another NFL team.

It probably wouldn’t take too much to acquire him from the Packers either. A mid to late-round draft pick might be all that is needed to get Green Bay to agree to a deal.

If this is the case and the Packers are looking to part ways with Williams for the right price, then the Steelers should be one of the teams attempting to acquire the young running back.
