The NFL Draft is just weeks away. Here’s why I have Pittsburgh finding Javon Hargrave’s replacement in my latest seven-round Steelers mock draft.

The Steelers are rumored to be interested in a handful of players from multiple positions with their first selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. Their options include finding an eventual replacement for edge defender, Bud Dupree, beefing up the offensive line, and finding an eventual replacement for James Conner at running back.

In addition, something that has been talked about frequently is finding a suitable replacement for defensive tackle Javon Hargrave. In my latest seven-round Steelers mock draft, I have them doing exactly that. Here’s a look at my full updated mock:

2nd Round: Justin Madubuike

Defensive tackle, Texas A&M

Justin Madubuike is a player that makes a ton of sense for the Steelers. While Pittsburgh went out and traded for Ravens defensive tackle, Chris Wormley, he is viewed as a 5-technique in their scheme. They still need a player who can come in on third downs and knife into the backfield. Madubuike could be their guy.

The standout Texas A&M defensive tackle is a redshirt junior who missed his entire freshman season. However, he has made a splash over the past two years – combining for 22.0 tackles for a loss and 11.0 sacks in 2018 and 2019. Other options include to replace Gallimore at pick 49 include Ross Blacklock and Neville Gallimore, but Madubuike may be the most complete of the three in terms of stopping the run and getting after the quarterback. He fits the bill of what the Steelers are looking for in a replacement.
