Round 3

Lloyd Cushenberry, IOL, LSU

Back to back LSU players come to the Steelers as Lloyd Cushenberry proved to be the best value in the third. He was an anchor on an impressive LSU offensive line that helped likely first overall pick Joe Burrow succeed at the level he did. To his part, Cushenberry put up some impressive tape while at LSU.

His measurables at the combine were decent but his testing was cut short by an injury. Had he been able to fully work out (and had teams been able to complete the pre-draft process on him) he likely would be more highly regarded. His loss is the Steelers gain though, as Cushenberry would help fill out a depth chart that lost a starter and top interior backup this offseason.

As for his rookie season, Cushenberry would enter the battle for starting OG with Stefan Wisniewski and Matt Feiler. While his road to starting may not be easy this year, he has starter upside and should end up working his way into being a starter down the road. He will provide excellent depth on the inside and has some great upside overall.
