Damon Harrison Sr.

Damon Harrison is an absolute monster at what he does. Outside of one season from 2013-2018, Harrison finished with a 90+ run defense grade according to Pro Football Focus. In the one season that Harrison didn’t exceed a 90, PFF graded him at 87.1.

Although this past season was Harrison’s worst since his rookie season, outside factors played a big role. He wasn’t healthy all year and played for one of the worst teams in the NFL. With those two variables on the table, it would be difficult for anyone to play their best.

Although there are rumors that Harrison has contemplated retirement, if a contender such as the Steelers were to come calling, Harrison would pounce at the opportunity. Harrison has only made the playoffs once in his entire career, so the chance to play for a contending team would surely be enticing.

Also, while Harrison is noted more for his prowess in the run game, he is a better pass rusher than he’s given credit for. He has 6 sacks in his two seasons with the Lions. While that figure may not strike you as much, for a supposed 2-down player, that number is excellent.

Adding a player of Harrison’s caliber has the potential to be the steal of free agency. Putting him on a defensive line with fellow All-Pro’s, Cameron Heyward and T.J. Watt would allow the Steelers defense to wreak havoc on opposing defenses.
