Best-case scenarios at pick 49:

WR Brandon Aiyuk or Jalen Reagor

I have 1st-2nd round grades on both Arizona State wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and TCU’s Jalen Reagor this year. Both players are dynamic athletes with the ball in their hands. They can create quick separation (which is something Pittsburgh is lacking outside of Diontae Johnson) and make defenders miss with ease.

Aiyuk or Reagor would give the Steelers offense an immediate boost while providing much-needed depth at the position. In addition, either receiver would give Pittsburgh an excellent insurance policy in the event that an extension cannot be reached with JuJu Smith-Schuster.

DT Justin Madubuike or Ross Blacklock

Defensive tackle is a position I can see getting boosted up in this draft because of a lack of quality depth, but Justin Madubuike and Ross Blacklock are two of the only players that have exactly what the Steelers are looking for in a Javon Hargrave replacement.

Both players were studs in the middle of their respective defense and can get constant pressure on the quarterback. They have size and athletic traits similar to Hargrave, and they can both do a good enough job against the ground. I have true second-round grades on both players.
