Steelers Draft: Top 150 big board and players Pittsburgh could target
By Tommy Jaggi
The NFL Draft is just days away. Here is my final 2020 Top 150 big board and players the Pittsburgh Steelers could target.
We’ve finally made it to another NFL Draft, but this year look more different than it ever has. Travel bans forced the cancelation of more than 85 Pro Days and teams were not permitted to bring players in for facility visits this year. In addition, the Steelers are without a first-round pick for the first time since 1967 and have fewer draft picks than they’ve had since 2003.
Despite all of this, there is always a good enough reason to get excited for April, and the thought of landing a potential difference-maker will keep me glued to my chair from Thursday until Saturday. Over the past four months, I have spent countless hours analyzing game film and studying draft trends. Here is my final 2020 big board, and the players the Steelers could target in each round:
1st Round Grades:
Rank | Prospect | College | Position | Ht | Wt | Year |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Joe Burrow | LSU | QB | 6’3″ | 221 | SR |
2 | Chase Young | Ohio State | EDGE | 6’5″ | 265 | JR |
3 | Isaiah Simmons | Clemson | OLB | 6’4″ | 238 | RJR |
4 | Tua Tagovailoa | Alabama | QB | 6’0″ | 217 | JR |
5 | Jeffrey Okudah | Ohio State | CB | 6’1″ | 205 | JR |
6 | Jedrick Wills | Alabama | OT | 6’4″ | 312 | JR |
7 | Tristan Wirfs | Iowa | OT | 6’5″ | 320 | JR |
8 | CeeDee Lamb | Oklahoma | WR | 6’2″ | 198 | JR |
9 | Andrew Thomas | Georgia | OT | 6’5″ | 315 | JR |
10 | Mekhi Becton | Louisville | OT | 6’7″ | 364 | JR |
11 | Jerry Jeudy | Alabama | WR | 6’1″ | 193 | JR |
12 | Derrick Brown | Auburn | DL1T | 6’5″ | 326 | SR |
13 | Henry Ruggs III | Alabama | WR | 5’11” | 188 | JR |
14 | C.J. Henderson | Florida | CB | 6’1″ | 204 | JR |
The Steelers are without a first-round pick, and all of these players will undoubtedly be off the board by the time pick 49 rolls around. Thinking of Minkah Fitzpatrick as their first-round draft choice makes all of the pain go away though.
