Wilson would be a solid OT with the Steelers

Isaiah Wilson, OT, Georgia

The first thing that pops on tape of Isaiah Wilson is his immense size: 6’6, 350 lbs. For a man as big as he is, he is surprisingly agile and athletic. As well, he is young, being a redshirt sophomore last season at Georgia. His size and potential though is something that the Steelers can’t afford to pass on if he is available to them at pick 49.

He has some versatility as well, as his most natural position is OT and could develop as a starter on either side. He also has the size to kick inside if the Steelers believe he would be better suited there. The tape he has put out is impressive though and would be a hard player to pass on if he fell to 49.

His footwork is a little sloppy and he can resemble a dancing bear out there at times, but with proper technique, he has the chance to be a quality starter. As well, while he may be able to make the move to LT, his best chance for early success is at RT or inside. He may need a year to work on developing his technique, but he could be penciled in to start as early as this year on the right side. He has size and strength and a high ceiling; the Steelers can’t pass on him.
