Another far-fetched scenario

Okay, okay. Stop yelling at your computer screen. Let’s scratch that last one. While part of me hopes it works out just for the social experiment aspect of things, we should probably look at another possibility that is equally improbable but somehow less apt to send most of us off the deep end.

Scenario 2: Trade their 3rd round pick for a player they already know

Everyone knows that Adam Gase and Le’Veon Bell have not forged the most stable marriage. Not two years ago, experts were referring to Bell as a generational player, and Steelers fans were lamenting his imminent departure. Now, the running back finds himself stuck in NFL purgatory. The New York Jets. His production is down. His QB had mono last season which probably means this year Sam Darnold will come down with chickenpox or the mumps or something.

The Jets would love to offload at least a sizable chunk of Bell’s salary, and the Steelers would love to add a dynamic playmaker back into their offensive backfield. To make the deal work, the Jets agree to pay approximately half of Bell’s salary the next two years while the Steelers send their third-round pick and the rights to long snapper, Colin Holba.  Fortunately for Pittsburgh, the Jets do not realize that Holba is a NY Giant until the deal is signed.

Antonio Brown sees the deal and begins tweeting about getting the band back together. Further investigation reveals he is talking about NSYNC. Again, no one knows why.
