Less collaboration with front office

The final reason why we could witness one of the worst drafts for the Steelers in ages is because of insufficient collaboration with the front office staff. Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network had this to say about the lack of ‘groupthink’ this offseason:

It’s easy to see why this could be a problem. Instead of getting together all offseason to discuss players they like and seeing them first-hand, Kevin Colbert and his crew are left to rely on their own opinions and not the input from others.

While this in itself may not lead to busted picks from the Steelers, there could be a lot more disagreements this year on which players certain coaches and front office staff want to have on the team.

There are 31 other teams that will be at a disadvantage during the NFL Draft. However, the Steelers are the only team in the NFL with just one pick inside the top 100. If their not careful, this has the potential to be one of the worst drafts in recent history.
