Which prospects will ultimately fall to 49 and 102?

There are always scenarios where players fall for no reason and it may just be because there is plenty of other talent in the draft. I could see some good players filling some immediate needs for the Steelers.

Michael Pittman is still on the board and he is a nice long receiver with good route running ability. He was also at the Senior Bowl.

Ezra Cleveland is still on the board and I think if he were drafted, could win the right tackle job out of camp and eventually be the Steelers left tackle when Ali Villanueva is done.

Tee Higgins has dropped but I think if he dropped to 49 then the Steelers should scoop him up. He was the best receiver on the Clemson Tigers and was a first-rounder in my opinion until guys like Henry Ruggs III passed him at the combine.

There is still talent that could fall to the third round. What if a pass rusher like Josh Uche was still on the board? He could help their pass rush as a rookie behind studs Bud Dupree and TJ Watt. You can never have too many pass rushers.

Maybe the third round at 102 would be a good time to take a guy like Lloyd Cushenberry III or Tyler Biadasz or even Matt Hennessey. I would be happy with any of the three and we know the Steelers need some help on the interior losing Ramon Foster and BJ Finney with Maurkice Pouncey aging.

Conclusion

Day Two should be an exciting day for the Steelers. There will be plenty of talent available and it is up to the Steelers to claim it. The team did a good job of keeping Bud Dupree and filling needs in free agency.

The Black & Gold have two of their six picks in the draft on Day Two. I don’t worry so much about if there will be talent available but instead, will the Steelers hit on that talent.

In an ideal world. I would like to see them come away with a good receiver and a good offensive lineman on Day Two, but if a good player falls, then its the Steeler’s job to take them.

My ideal scenario is that Grant Delpit falls to them in the second round and then they scoop up a good interior lineman like Llyod Cushenberry or Robert Hunt in the third round.

The big names usually go on Day one of the draft, but you can still find stars on Day Two. Happy Watching Steeler fans!
