Safeties: 4

Minkah Fitzpatrick

Terrell Edmunds

Jordan Dangerfield

Antoine Brooks Jr.

There isn’t a lot of debate here at the moment. Though Antoine Brooks is only a 6th round rookie draft choice, the Steelers have no depth at the safety position, and he is almost a lock to make the team, assuming he stays healthy throughout training camp and the preseason.

Jordan Dangerfield will make the team for most of the same reasons. He’s a solid special teams player but isn’t an excellent coverage guy. Dangerfield does his damage working from the bo.

The Steelers would prefer to not have to call either of these safeties to play on defense much this year, as Minkah Fitzpatrick and Terrell Edmunds will dominate the snap counts as long as they are healthy. If either player gets hurt, they could be in trouble here.
