Tight ends: 3

Eric Ebron

Vance McDonald

Zach Gentry

The Steelers almost always keep three tight ends on their 53-man roster, and these are the three most likely to be on the team in 2020. Obviously, Eric Ebron is a lock to make the team, as he was the most coveted signing by Pittsburgh this offseason. He stands to be a big part of the offense this year.

Vance McDonald has fallen out of favor a bit, and many believed he would be a cap casualty in 2020. However, a recent contract restructures this offseason has him sticking around as the number two tight end this year.

Zach Gentry was a fifth-round draft choice by the Steelers in 2019 who is still relatively new to the position. But he’s a project with limited upside. Gentry has the inside track to a roster spot in 2020, but if someone better comes along, he could be out of a job.
