Week 11 @ Jacksonville Jaguars
It’s not that I’m buying into all of the hype with ‘Minshew Mania’, rather, the Steelers have been historically bad against the Jaguars – especially when playing on the road. This has been happening since the days of Byron Leftwich and David Garrard throughout the early 2000s.
In 2017, the Steelers lost to the Jaguars twice – once in the regular season and once in the playoffs. Despite Jacksonville not having a great offense, in those two games, Pittsburgh combined to allow 75 points (37.5 points per game). Remarkably, both of these games were even at home for the Steelers.
Jacksonville may not have the same level of talent they did a few seasons ago, but playing in Jacksonville against a team they historically struggle with isn’t exactly a recipe for success. This is a game Pittsburgh could certainly lose.
There is a pretty good chance the Steelers could end up being favored in all three of these games – especially if Ben Roethlisberger is healthy and playing well. However, Pittsburgh losses at least one game per year that everyone expects them to win. These are the games they will have to be especially careful with this season.
