QB Deshaun Watson being here should give the reader full clarity in the direction this article went. As objective as this attempt was in taking the totality of everything that could improve each quarterback’s situation, but also making their pure talent the main focus, it’s challenging to put Watson in any ranking below two for the QBs the Steelers will face in 2020.

In the past two years, he has willed the Texans to consecutive 10+ win seasons. As lightly I write that knowing QB wins isn’t the most remarkable stat in contextualizing their achievements from a short-term basis, Watson has had five game-winning-drives in each of those seasons as well. Furthermore, he’s been consistent in that span, never missing a start throwing for more than 3800 yards & 26 touchdowns in each year, while never throwing more than 12 INTs with an average QB rate of 100.55.

A player that generally can be respected by almost anybody for how he approaches the game on-the-field & how he carries himself off-the-field, Watson has been in a dire environment under GM/HC Bill O’Brien, who is finessing checks by the week from the Texans organization. No, we can not make sense of that De’Andre Hopkins trade. Instead, they now have a WR corps boasted by Will Fuller, Kenny Stills, Brandin Cooks, and Randall Cobb with an injury-prone RB David Johnson to help out Watson.

Still, Watson is that good to elevate his team in any moment with his ability to make the most out of completely nothing with his legs, that is a weapon as well.

Spectacular, despite everything working against him, if Prescott is described to be an athlete that can cause damage on the ground, Watson is even better. 5+ rushing touchdowns the past two years, he’s also been able to have a rush for at least 30 yards or more since entering the NFL in 2017.

The first time Pittsburgh will ever have to deal with the incredible talent that is Deshaun Watson, week three should still be favorable for the Steelers as they will just out-match the Texans from a complete roster perspective.
