Starting offense (cont.)
Tight end (Move): Eric Ebron
Eric Ebron will slide right in as a ‘move’ (or Joker) tight end for the Steelers. He will be a player that can occasionally play inline, but will primarily work from the slot and can stretch the field for Pittsburgh.
Tight end (Y): Vance McDonald
Even with the addition of Ebron, I still expect McDonald to earn quite a few snaps for the Steelers (maybe even a close split). Vance is a better blocker than Ebron, so he will mainly play inline.
Left tackle: Alejandro Villanueva
No change here. Big Al keeps his spot at left tackle without contest, though in his last year under contract, this could be his final season in Pittsburgh.
Left guard: Matt Feiler
Here’s where things get dicey. Because Pittsburgh has such limited depth at the interior offensive line, I think they could try out Feiler here. Wisniewski would become the primary backup.
Center: Maurkice Pouncey
Despite coming off arguably the worst season of his career (contrary to what his Pro Bowl title would indicate) Pouncey will resume his role as the starting center without contest in 2020.
Right guard: David DeCastro
Explanation not required.
Right tackle: Zach Banner
If the Steelers kick Feiler inside, this will come down to Banner and Chukwuma Okorafor. Pittsburgh is pretty high on Banner and I think he’s got an ideal build for the right tackle position.
