Starting defense (cont.)

Inside linebacker (‘Buck’): Vince Williams

Vince Williams’ role is slowly starting to diminish, as he saw just 37 percent of snaps despite playing 14 games last season. Pittsburgh could use Ulysees Gilbert on the field in sub-packages more in 2020.

Inside linebacker (‘Mack’): Devin Bush

Bush is a player who will rarely come off the field for the Steelers. A lot of their success will depend on whether or not he can stay healthy.

Left cornerback: Joe Haden

Haden resumes his role as the left cornerback in 2020 – a position that earned him 5 interceptions a season ago.

Right cornerback: Steven Nelson

Nelson did a rock-solid job as a starter for the Steelers last year, and he won’t leave the field in 2020 unless he’s hurt. He will lock down the right cornerback position once again.

Free safety: Minkah Fitzpatrick

Fitzpatrick was incredible during his first season in Pittsburgh. This needs no explanation.

Strong safety: Terrell Edmunds

Despite his struggles in 2019, there is zero chance the Steelers give up on the 23-year old this year. The strong safety job is his.
