Wide Receivers (6)

  1. JuJu Smith-Schuster
  2. Diontae Johnson
  3. James Washington
  4. Ryan Switzer
  5. Chase Claypool
  6. Deon Cain

The Steelers like to keep six receivers and I think 2020 will be no different. Juju Smith-Schuster will be a key piece to this team and the hope is that he can bounce back in his fourth-year. If not, you could clearly see him being let to test free agency.

The Steelers receivers in 11 personnel will be lead by guys who they have drafted and will need to take steps forward in their development. Those guys are Diontae Johnson and James Washington. The hope with those guys is they become legitimate starting quality receivers despite their youth.

The Steelers will also probably keep Ryan Switzer although he will at least need to win the punt returner job if he wants to stay with the team. I don’t think he is a great receiver, but he is a reliable return man.

Chase Claypool will definitely make the team, but I think his role at the beginning of year one will be on special teams. His main job will be to be the Steeler’s primary gunner in my opinion. I hope he develops into a good receiver though as Juju may be on his way out.

Deon Cain will be on this roster, but he will have to play well in camp to make the roster. Every receiver on the roster will be gunning for the sixth-receiver job. Deon Cain still is a young player, but he is also unproven.
