Vince Williams

Vince Williams has drastically outplayed his former 6th round status from when he was drafted all the way back in 2013. The problem is he’s a situational player who is earning starter money.

Williams turned 30 years old late in the 2020 season and only earned 37 percent of defensive snaps for the Steelers last year. At this point in his career, Williams is limited to early-down work and blitz situations, as he has proven to be a liability in coverage.

But despite his part-time role and clear limitations in a passing league, Williams is still earning over $7 million in each of the next two seasons. This seems like an awful lot for a player who comes in for one-third of the teams defensive snaps.

Williams could prove to play even less in his last two years with the team – making him hardly worth half of what he is about to receive.
