Maurkice Pouncey

I know Maurkice Pouncey has impeccable reputation thanks to meaning 8 Pro Bowls in 9 NFL seasons, but the long-time Steelers center really wasn’t good in 2019. He was constantly allowing pressure up the middle – as evidenced by his 51.5 overall PFF grade last season. Pouncey rated out as the 33rd out of 34 qualifying centers, according to Pro Football Focus.

But despite his sound reputation, Pouncey hasn’t been worth the money he is receiving. Pouncey is the fourth-highest-paid player on the team and is set to earn $14.5 million in 2021 at the age of 32.

Chances are, his play isn’t going to improve a lot in his old age. Pouncey may be able to bounce back from a poor 2019 season, but that doesn’t mean he will do anything close to earning his pay he is set to receive.
