Top 5 most underrated players in Steelers franchise history

The Steelers have a long and storied history filled with great players whose careers should have earned them the recognition they deserved

For a franchise that has won 6 Super Bowl trophies, the Steelers have several players whose careers earned them enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Conversely, there are several players whose careers were nothing short of superb, but for whatever reason, those players did not get the recognition they deserved.

The players about whom we talked in this article may or may not be the exact players you would have chosen to be your top 5 most underrated players in franchise history and that’s just fine.  The great part about compiling a list of ‘top’ anything is that the sky is the limit, so to speak.

Depending on perspective, the Steelers may have no underrated players or we may have ‘a hundred’, underrated players.  Regardless of what number you would assign to this particular list, the fact remains that right, wrong, or indifferent, I think it’s fair to argue that a franchise as storied as the Steelers franchise has at least 5 underrated players and I believe those 5 players were listed above.
