Trouble for Ben Roethlisberger

After week one, the Steelers had gotten crushed by the Patriots on national television. Things were looking down but there was hope for recovery with a believed healthiness to Ben Roethlisberger.

Then the worst news of the year manifested with Ben Roethlisberger being out for the rest of the season with an elbow injury. The season seemed like a bust, and they had not even played two games.

This story was good for Devlin Hodges though as he was promoted to the roster as the backup to Mason Rudolph. Things were looking up for the rookie.

Just when you think Steelers had enough problems

Mason Rudolph was rolling as the quarterback when he was knocked unconscious in the first Ravens game. He suffered a concussion and tried to tough it out by walking off the field and saying I’m good. The truth is he had taken a serious hit from Earl Thomas.

Devlin Hodges stepped in and although he did not win the game he relieved, he went on to become 3-0 in his first three starts. He would eventually slide back down the mountain and finish the season 3-3 as a starter.
