SS Terrell Edmunds

Much Steelers Nation was in shock after Kevin Colbert and his crew elected to go with Terrell Edmunds with the 28th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Though safety was a position that was certainly on their radar, many thought Justin Reid or Jessie Bates would be ideal candidates.

Though his brother, Tremaine, was considered a legitimate first-round prospect, Terrell was expected to be a second or third-round draft choice. So far in his career, that’s where it seems like he should have gone.

Though Edmunds hasn’t been outright terrible, he certainly hasn’t lived up to his billing as a former first-round draft choice. Last year, he took a step back – allowing a 131.6 passer rating when targeted and allowing 4 touchdowns.

With such high expectations, there are very few Steelers (if any) with more to prove than Terrell Edmunds in 2020. Let’s hope he takes a jump in his third NFL season.
